Cremation and Burial

Cremation and Burial

Many people express their preference for burial or cremation before they pass away, and if you know what their wishes were we can arrange the funeral accordingly. We are available to discuss the options with you when you need to.

Ultimately, the choice between burial and cremation is a personal one.

If you are thinking ahead yourself, we recommend our free My Funeral Wishes form which you can print off and complete to keep on file for your own family when the time comes.

A burial

For a burial we need to know:

1. Is a new grave plot required or is there an existing family plot?

If your family doesn't have a cemetery plot we can help you select a burial plot or crypt at your choice of cemetery.

A cremation

For a cremation we need to know how you would like to lay the ashes to rest after the cremation has taken place, as there are several options:

1. A crematorium space
2. Placing the ashes in a lawn cemetery or urn
3. A cremation memorial

At Metropolitan Funerals, our experienced funeral directors can help advise you on the best options that meet your needs and your budget.

We have been serving Queenslanders for 75 years now, and our staff pride themselves on offering you personal and specialist care.
